Lately, i've been interested in mapping Mana Founts, AKA Dragon's Breath. For those unfamiliar, it's a specific area (typically natural) which has an unusually high concentration of natural earth's energy, and is extremely beneficial to those seeking to meditate or perform certain rituals, and is valuable to many different religions. Such areas, especially to those with cleared Chakra, can allow a higher than normal rate of energy flow and just as the name implies, can also be excellent locations to unleash one's Kundalini.
One of the aspects to accomplishing this is to chart them in abstract, as each has a certain 'draw' or 'pull' which can be used to trace to other locations once a handful are found. These lines when drawn can form patterns or even sigils which are beleived valuable to finding either a particularly potent fount, or can aid one in spiritual awakening by completing a pattern relevent to one's companion demon.
This brings me to my question.
I need a (free) program I can use to create a graph of some sort which can track points in a three dimensional manner. Basically, it needs to be simple and easy to learn, but allow me to plot paths and especially 'pinpoints' which detailed information that will be easy to visualize and follow. The Z-axis is of particular importance as this sigil-hunt may incorporate underground and inaccessible locations that i'll have to make hypothesis on.
It would be a great benefit to my research and of course, once I have any findings, i'll share them with anyone interested to draw their own conclusions.

I need a 3d graphing program that allows me to create notepoints, is free, and relatively easy to use.
