Merging Consciousness

When you're merging consciousness with another person will they be able to sense your presence? Especially if they are somewhat spiritually advanced?

I think this happens only if they are advanced and you're messing with their thoughts or implanting thoughts on them. I did an interesting thing some time ago, I merged consciousness with Satan. It was truly a powerful feeling

Ooh, really? I'd love to try that one day.  
So it's possible that if someone tried to merge consciousness with me I might be able to pick up on it?
