What do you guys think about attending local meetup groups with other Satanists?

Here are my concerns:1. Safety from a physical attack, i.e. Jews or anti-satanists2. Incorrect information 3. Different views (spiritual vs LaVeyan or others)
However, I would really like to have a personal discussion with other Spiritual Satanists. I want to hear quick answers about chakras, tone for opening third eye, and anything else I can learn faster by audio vs. reading.
Perhaps someone knows of a legitimate group in LA near Hollywood.

(I realize there are a few die-hard "don't meet people" on here. Sure, I will hear you out too. Please provide logic with your opinion so I can better understand.)

You proveded the logic yourself with your concerns. They are all very true, very real, and will in time turn these 'meet ups' into what the CoS is, a big LARP for kids to come play their fantasy out.
You can get the answers to those questions here, and you can do workings to attract like minded friends and people to you. I agree however that Audio can be better in certain situations (vibrations for instance). This is something I've been meaning to get around to, though now looks like I'm not going to have the time for a while.

If you learn faster with audio vs reading then have an auto voice program (you can find many of them free, obviously there are for blind people who can't read) and have it read the JoS pages for you. Obviously you can do that without going through the dangerous thing of trying to meet up and so attract infiltrators, those who can do illegal things and charge them to you and send you to jail e.t.c.

Now I'm not saying that you shouldn't ever meet anyone at all. If you are intermediate to advanced (being dedicated for at least 1 year) and you know what's true and false and the infiltrator tricks, and you know those people you want to meat for at least 1 year online, that's OK. However what you're saying is not in this category at all. Most likely you want meet with strangers who you don't even know them at all, and judging by your post you're not experienced either, but you are extremely new.

Generally I would say if you are a knowledgeable SS and you know another knowleadgeable SS's online for sometime and you want to meet with him, no problem at all. The type of meetings that is highly discouraged is when people say things like "guys, I'm new and I want some mentor to teach me" or when you see a message from a person whose first post is looking for groups. The first is a sure no-no, as it's an infiltrator magnet.

You should also think it that way: you only have 2 posts here (you claimed to be a memeber under a different account, but I searched the account you said and didn't find any posts by that other account either). You are not known or trusted. So obviously no real SS's would even want to meet with you at all. Yeah, I'm not saying that you're surely a troll, but trolls and infiltrators usually do that. They ask to meet up in their first or second posts.

Honestly, the purpose of these groups isn't really to try to meet offline, but to answer questions and other concerns and provide support online.

I appreciate your post, however, I clearly wasn't requesting to meet anyone on here. I am referring to an actual website called Meetup.com where there are satanists that meet. Also next don't accuse me of promoting meetup.com it was only a question in regards to it.
The first person answered my concerns and gave me an alternative that I will be patient with, I also purchased the audio CD from the JOS website. So I will not be pursuing any local meet up groups.
I'm not an audio learner, I would like reinforcement that my tone was correct while opening my third eye before I moved on to the crown chakra. I will continue to meditate on my third eye to make sure it is opened fully, and I started the second part this morning by working on my crown chakra.
Yes I am very newly dedicated, however still dedicated.

Ok thank you for the advice. I do like the idea of workings to bring like minded people to me, that will be my substitute. I will forget about the meetup groups. It always seemed like a good idea until I seriously considered it and then I started to doubt it. Probably a good thing.
