A really good book is "Lucid Dreaming" by Robert Waggoner. I have read some of it, but have not finished it yet.

The mind is a tool used to partially tether your astral and physical form. When your body is completely relaxed, like in sleep, your astral form is more in control, Just like an astral temple. I believe that you might be able to use your dreams like your astral temple when you realize your in a dream, or you should be able to anyway.
