To better direct the energies, focus on what you want to be free of.
The Gods are very powerful and I don't think they will be limited by few affirmations.
I don't think they don't want to communicate with you, the problem might be that your astral senses aren't well developed at the moment.

As far as I understand, a statement is complemented by intention, meaning that even if you stated that, if it wasn't your intention, nothing happens.
