I come from a very eclectic pagan background. Not the white light fluffy crap. I’ve read about voodoo, black magic, all types of spells, tarot, runes, etc, etc. Some of it was obvious crap. But some seems pretty legit. Can any of that be salvaged? I might cry if I find out I’ve spent thousands of dollars on complete garbage. I’ve been collecting for over 20 years.

Can anything be salvaged?

I understand. I haven't spent thousands of dollars but more like hundreds, maybe just under or just over one thousand dollars, on occult books in the past 8 years. Some I wish I kept, others I am glad I tossed out.Do you get attached to your books? I know I do. If your books are in good condition and don't do anything for you anymore or are complete junk, you could sell them to a secondhand bookstore for a some easy money.

I have a lot of various occult books as well. Personally I'm going to keep most of mine for now. Partially, I'm somewhat of a packrat collector type. However, the main reason is I want go back through some of them and review from a JOS perspective. Alot of the occult as you know has been corrupted meaning that there is some truth sprinkled in here and there. One way to look at it is to take from them what is useful and ignore the rest. If there is nothing useful? Well that book can go to the yardsale or local book store.
