How does it effect us if it does? Say if we made a Mars colony, Mars does go retrograde, how would that affect colonists there? And how would Earth going retrograde affect colonists there? What does Earth represent?

#77460 Does Earth go retrograde?
No planet actually moves backward. What we call retrograde is simply the way planets appear to move backward in the sky when observed from Earth.
For Earth, retrograde motion is not visible, because we are observing from Earth itself and interpret everything using a geocentric system.

Appearing to move in a retrograde motion is a relative thing. When observed from outside the solar system, no planets go retrograde. As said above, when seen from Earth some planets seem to go backwards.
If we colonized the planet Mars and we lived there, then Mars wouldn't appear retrograde, obviously. Earth would though. We would have a different system of astrology where the planet Mars wouldn't exist in our charts (because we are living there), but it would be replaced by Earth and we would assign an interpretation to the planet earth.
