I have a question. Why do monotheistic religions forbid pork or any type of animal? For example, is there any benefit to eating pork forbidding it?

Other #75612 Monotheist Religion and Food
The pork was probably causing some health problems at the time due to how it was being processed (tapeworms). So someone made it a law banning its consumption. Syrian rue was used as a dye in some places. It a MAO inhibitor which doesn't mix with pork or shellfish. There are a lot reasons that probably made sense at the time.
