Solar Return shows the whole year. Lunar Return for one month.

I would believe so.

If it's exceptionally bad and action required to stay safe, then simply increasing your AoP and possibly even doing a Sun Square to help offset the negative placement would do you good.

If it's like totally out of your control, do ask Father Zeus or your GD for help. But only ask if it's out of your control.

Yes to both. But generally, watch out for a year where the chart ruler is on a bad degree. It can affect more areas than just the affairs ruled by this planet.

Something to keep in mind is that problems highlighted by Saturn tend to last longer and be more devastating than problems highlighted by Mars.
