Question #3748: 12th house planets and trance

Planetary Squares used as a way to bringing energy back to planets who do not work as they should in our Natal Charts. For example if your Mars sign is a Libra that mean your Planet Mars is not working as it should (or as powerful as it can). This is why you should practice Mars Square. 12th house is ruled by Pisces and it is ruled by Neptune. So for strenghten your 12th house you should use Neptune Square. BUT 12th house is also associated with the enemies so your intention should be "By using Neptune Square i am going to empower my Planet Neptune and Pisced Sign on my Natal Chart. Or something like that.

Each of these planets has a unique function, which may be related to a trance or other psychic functions, but also not. Remember that the 12th house is the house traditionally ruled by Neptune, so this would be the planet/energy type best associated with divination and peering into the unknown, so to speak. Mars in Cancer suggests activity put towards sensing and feeling within the 12th, which is definitely good in its own right, but also different from the energies/behaviors of Neptune itself.

So to answer your question, the answer is yes it would give some benefit, but it may not be efficient towards your stated goal, as Mars is better at action, and Mercury is better at analysis, than sensing energy like Neptune (or for your goal: the Laguz rune) would do.

When you are planning your time, you must also consider the other functions of these planets and make sure you are not missing advancement in other areas of your life which could be better suited by the energy of Mars or whatever non-traditional planet you may be trying to associate with a certain goal.

What about saturn? On the astrology page it doesn't look good, but wouldn't it make the person more disciplined in something relating to the 12th?

Yes. Saturn in Pisces would do this, as it makes the person take the energy status of a situation seriously, as well as other Pisces characteristics like purity and charity.
