My family has a habit of taking baths with herbs, smoking the house with dried herbs and things like that, they say that each herb has a property
For example, they take cinnamon baths for spiritual protection, they smoke the house with rosemary to bring joy.

Yes, herbs do have properties. Some of the Gods teach about these. Using herbs can be a very quick and effective way to bring such benefits.

Smoking them like a cigarette and directly breathing the smoke is dangerous. Any kind of smoke is dangerous for the lungs. But if you mean burning them to get the smell of them into the house, that might be okay. There is still some smoke which is not good, but if it is a small enough amount it might not do too much damage.
A better way would be boil them to make a tea. And this will still make the smell go in the air from the steam which is much safer than smoke.
