When starting a spell/curse, do I have to pay attention to the moon, the planet, or both (here I'm ignoring magic squares)?
For example, for a money spell, should I focus on the moon's position or the sun's position?
For a sex spell, should I focus on the moon's position or Mars's position?
So far, from what I've observed, the moon is the main factor for starting a spell. Regarding the planet, I only need to worry about whether it's direct or retrograde. Is this view correct?

Yes. For the spell, you need to check the moon and, if necessary, the retrograde planets. This applies to all types of spells. Sex, money, work, etc.

The Moon and the planet. For example if Moon is waxing in Libra but Venus, ruling love, is in fall/detriment (Aries, Virgo, Scorpio), it is not a good time for a love working.
On my profile wall I've posted good and optimal dates for money workings, and I include when Sun (rules wealth) and Venus (rules finances and income) are also in good signs which will add power to the money working.
