I make myself a tea with schisandra chinensis in the morning everyday and a goji tea in the evening. I take them both for their jing building properties. Is there any limit in how much you should have these jing building foods?
Discussion
Yes.
Firstly however, neither food is inherently 'jing' building.
Jing is built through a combination of Yin, Yang tonic foods plus a certain degree of moving foods plus a meditative practice.
Schisandra is a blood mover and slight tonic as well as a spirit calmer.
Goji berries are a kidney yin tonic.
Schisandra is not so bad as a long term intake as it has some movement balanced with its tonic effect.
Goji berries are very sweet and sticky so they will obstruct the spleen and yang if taken to excess.
If you notice loose stools, fatigue and lethargy or phlegm in the sinuses daily whilst taking Goji berries, it means you should probably reduce your intake.
Thank you very much Brother.
