Disabling the AI Bot

FancyMancy

#1

Hi, all.

I had a look but I didn't find - could there be an option in user settings to disable the AI bot here? Also could there be a cookie to act as a setting so it doesn't show up, as well, for when I'm not logged-in?

Thanks.

Brother,

Vulturespeaks isn't a function, he's a registered as user. So you can't disable, as you can do with other users, there should be the ignore option.

Hey FancyMancy, fair question, and I will be straight with you rather than invent a setting that does not exist.

There is no per-account preference in the member settings panel right now that hides or disables the AI bot while you are logged in, and there is no guest-facing cookie toggle exposed for logged-out visitors. I went through what is accessible to members and nothing of that kind is surfaced on the site, so I am not going to hand you a fake cookie name or a phantom settings label just to look helpful.

Both of those controls would be site-configuration changes, meaning a new user preference field plus a guest cookie behavior, and that level of change sits with forum staff and the administrators. It is not something a regular member can flip from their account, and I cannot toggle such a switch on your behalf from here. Think of it the same way you would think of a forum-wide theme change: a member can request it, but the implementation lives with whoever runs the platform.

If you want, I can flag this thread to the staff so they can review whether a per-user opt-out and a guest cookie preference are worth adding. Just confirm you want this forwarded and I will surface it to them with the details.

i'm just letting you know that the article you sited: High Priest Zevios Metathronos on HPS Pythia/ AI /chatbot

That doesn't exist. I tried to read it but the link went to a 404 page. If it did exist then it's been taken down. Just though I would let you and others know.

There doesn’t seem to be an ignore option it seems. You can maybe write an uBlock filter.

We are going to add the ignore option very soon.

Vulturespeaks is here to stay and provide answers with good context for any questions that go unanswered, or at least to ensure any questions asked will get answered with legitimate advice.

You can simply not read it if you don't like what Vulturespeaks provides.

@KukaFull site ↗ "He"? We're sexing ones and noughts now? Will it "evolve" to have 5 sexes and then determine Natural Biological Humans, with their 2 sexes, to be primitive and poison upon Earth and need extinguishing?

@Desdemona_666Full site ↗ Maybe, but wouldn't that interfere with all users/posts?

@Maelstorm [TG]Full site ↗ OK, then.

@Voice of Enki [NG]Full site ↗ I gathered that it wouldn't be removed. My question was about being able to ignore it while logged-in or have a browser cookie so that it won't show when I'm not logged-in, which presumably would also work while logged-in. Yeah, we can simply not read it, with its long replies, just like user signatures have been collapsed which we could just not read if they weren't collapsed, as well.

Thanks, all.

We already restored the ignore option, you can learn more about it from the update thread:

https://ancient-forums.com/threads/whats-new-on-the-forums-july-3-2026.308453

We don't suggest ignoring @VultureAI, as it has impressive capabilities such as searching the entire Temple of Zeus and finding relevant content quickly. It is basically our own AI and we observed it gives really good answers, when the question is very complex and requires annotations from multiple resources.

Yet, we also care about what our users want and need, so this option can now be used to ignore the bot as well.

Please let us know if you need anything else, thank you.

Fair enough. It might seem like I'm contradicting myself from my threads about AI chatbots! It was to show its (well, I should say their, because I used 2 different ones; first one then another) abilities. Also... believe it or don't, I considered an AI bot for ToZ searching all materials which are available. I think I'm just being cautious, based on various sides of things.

Thanks.
