I'm thinking of getting laser treatment to remove the melanin from my eyes so I can have lighter eyes.
I'm afraid of going blind.

So...not for eyesight?
I don't recommend it, rather spend this money in HoO and maybe your soul will become strong enough to change your eye colors.
If I got it, this treatment is for cosmetical purposes.i wouldn't risk even 1 percent for it.
Why do you want a light eye? Following other people's aesthetic standards reveals a lack of self-love. Each of us is unique in our own way, and we shouldn't change ourselves to fit in with how others think or so on.
I researched this and this practice of removing melanin from the eyes isn't legal at all. It can actually cause blindness, inflammation, and other problems. Many members here have brown eyes, and even fewer Gods, if you look at the descriptions of their appearance, It doesn't seem like it's a problem...
If you want to make a change, try using contact lenses in a safely way because even that can cause some inflammation, so imagine a laser removing your melanin, your natural protection.
Melanin is there for a reason. Our modern, yet rather crude methods, while potentially (not even always certainly!) producing a desired result, come at a price.

Why does having dark eyes bother you?
You should get to the root of this so that you can solve whatever issue is making you want to alter your body. If it's a self image issue then this needs to be addressed directly and internally, through introspection and meditation.
