If Neptune in the 1st (Aquarius) is part of an Air Grand Trine between Jupiter in Gemini 5th and Mars in Libra 9th + conjunct MC, does it weaken the influence of the other two planets?
I'm not sure what the expression of it would be in its higher octave.

Jupiter in Gemini is nothing wrong, they are brain of the Zodiac. Neptune does not only undermine but also deepens things, makes them more mystic and demanding spiritual and other knowledge to be properly understood, including gifts and possibilities.
This connection of Neptunian and Uranian topics resonates in whole spirituality / insight topic as well, and is great for any divination and spiritual approach to exact sciences if prominent Mercury and other aspects support this, such as maths/numerology link etc. If this is not the case, anyway all Neptunian sphere such as trans / astral projection can act as sublimation.
In the highest octave Mars in Libra is also nothing wrong, peace maker and beauty worker. If planets get mass used only in their lowest they of course can constitute liberals, deserters and cowards, but we are not them. They are in left sector - under Yehuborim everyone is obligated to use themselves only in the very specific lowest ways. No one here is obligated to use their planet this or that way especially lower one. We have full right on our chart. This is our right to execute only highest and only Godly of our strong parts such as Mars in Libra being great bally dancer or any other physically demanding art. Since MC is about self-realization most naturally aligning with profession. Or an ambassador if such people prefer politics.
All this tied into 1th-5th-MC makes good disposition for any kind of art.

From what I see: Jupiter in Gemini, non-Martial Mars and Neptune in 1th despite of how dreamy and insightful, are all weak-willed weak-motivated disperse non-concentrated aspects. For these talents they give to be realized, some hard work and good concentration related signs should balance them. I don't know whether you have those or not, but what you have needs persistence and a lot of hard work & dedication to be realized that this Trine by itself does not provide. And we do not know all your other chart. This Trine gives extreme objectivity and insight, while Earth would give persistence and perseverance needed to end the long project it might demand, Fire and Water would give passion and motivation needed to open the project and to be long dedicated to it enough to realize it.
Also specific Destiny can't be told by the Trine in some element alone because the last is mostly not Path/Destiny sign itself. It just gives elemental energy available to be sublimated for the Path, not revealing the specific of the Path itself. Since we do not know Nodes axes, IC/MC axes, CR situation, Saturn situation, Lunar Apogee/Perigee axes (if prominent) or if there are any other Destiny signs, we can't say where the Destiny call might occur.
