Translators for the SS Calendar!

Spine said:

Spine I believe what is being observed by others is an arrogant pattern of behavior that they perceive as you locking people out of doing work, in that respect. Granted everything in the past there is the undertone that this happens for reasons not serving a proper function.

On Spine's rights I believe Hayabusa has been part of some, needless to say, unreliability related episodes before. That does not account however for the lack of perception of manners or the fact that the above can easily be taken as a barring of people from working, which is not proper to do.

In regards to the "I only listen to the Gods" that's a typical undermining move one does to elevate themselves against a structure while simultaneously undermining it.

The above rises out of itself a conclusion practical ignorance in your case and nothing else.

Suddenly also elevating one's self in "listening" to anyone and being "Only below Satan", what makes you think that you are even there, or even remotely close, besides misplaced emotions? Functionally, this is backed by nothing. Respect should be a first given.

Therefore while that is theoretical, it's not practically real. It's just how you choose to perceive it all to undermine what is realistically in front of you.

One can only listen to the "Gods", but inside the social setting, there is society and existence. Here, one has to measure out and exist in this way. In the woods, one compares to nobody, and maybe they are with the Gods?

If no such titles and major things exist, why did you simultaneously got all that arrogant and disrespectful when you were given a basic moderator and contributor status? Nobody I believe would recall these things before. It's only lately this has been manifesting itself after this.

Meanwhile, none of the JG's have displayed any of the accused qualities of this either. If anyone did, it's because of this undermining factor that you try to use in order to defend yourself, and by yourself, the situation is this pattern of behavior.

It is also further hypocritical to undermine others based on the above. They do not display anything to you besides some obvious facts. As the situation was further derailed here, I believe, that this at least was the intention.

Lastly, the convenient situation of saying that the Gods condone any of this, is only going to serve you in a limited way, because when you actually one day see what they really want, it might be highly unpleasant and disrespect, lack of teamwork, ill manners, arrogance when you are just on the first step, trying to cast doubts on what they create without valid reasons, or many other said things, are all essentially negative routes of action that don't represent any accordance to them or how they want humans to behave.

Well, this is already addressed, see the next paragraph in Lydia's post, that translators from past years should contact her or you. Everything is clear here.
The problem is only the paragraph I quoted earlier, because if written well this discussion would not take place. The call for help is generic, and if you wanted to receive so many applicants both new and old, then excuse me, but this from my point of view, is not a wise choice.

For one fundamental reason, which means another problem not addressed before: how do you know which translator is suitable?

I don't really remember the first translated calendar [italian], I think it was under my jurisdiction when I was in charge of the JoS Italy, but still the second or third calendar, for sure it was under my jurisdiction. Anyway this or that, it doesn't matter, what happened? Nothing was consulted to me, an Italian member selected himself I don't know with what parameters etc, and then the translated calendar was published.

With translation errors. There were terms translated completely with another meaning, with the result that an Italian reader would have made/start a ritual with that purpose that was not actually proposed in the first place. This is a great harm, not? Tell me.

I then contacted the author and he corrected and resent to one of you, there was a lot of wasted time and a little of lot of email. All of this would be avoided if any of you had the thoughtfulness to ask me in the first place what would be the appropriate translator or that it is okay for the member himself but be joined by an expert as support.
The funny thing is some of you said it is done now, will make corrections for next year's calendar. Already the choice is incomprehensible because it doesn't make any sense, a crazy thing, it seems that we are of second-class people. Apart from this thing, the next year's calendar (the last one I think) I, as HEAD of JoSITA, obliged him to send me the final draft of the translation. There were some little errors and just because of my choice to oblige him and changed the method/procedure, the final calendar is perfect. Do you want to know the funny thing? My name was not among the authors. Except that I already knew that, but it makes you think.

So back on topic, my question, is how do you know you select members? How do you know if they are competent or not? Just on trust? Pass trough to an existing community is not only a wise choice but mandatory as an existing community knows its members and their levels of translation prowess. The procedure will be longer, as you will have to ask each of them, but you have the assurance that you will have a qualified translator, instead of ending up with an one not very good.

You must begin to open your mind and try to understand other positions and their remarks, even if written abruptly, and stop being felt to be entitled and observe us from above.

Sir, do you think I'm unreliable?
I don't really care what other people think, but I wonder what the person I admire and idolize thinks.

The full evaluation of this requires an investigation that would be very time consuming. Other members of the Turkish forums expressed some frustrations with you, and so an element of fairness would be to consider this and not assume no wrongdoing was done on your part.

However, explicitly defining your fault would be hard to do, and so that is why it doesn't hold much weight right now. This is different in the case of this thread, where we see wrongdoings occurring in front of us, and we are able to comment with clarity.

The point of all of this is to continue to grow, regardless. Nobody is going to have a perfect character or behavior. In regards to reliability itself, this is shown through your efforts and ethics and it can all be demonstrated and improved upon.

Due to the nature of all these events, I think it would be ok to remain open to any suggestions from others, but you shouldn't need to ruminate too much on your past.

If HPHC or others had a real problem with you, this would be made clear. In the meantime, you are able to continue to spiritually advance on this, regardless of whether others here know of your actions or not.

I recall you being the person who called me dumb or lazy when I basically asked a short summary of the question at hand instead of immersing myself into a whole book to find the source of your argument. In the end you did not provide anything of value, and left the discussion.

So, please. Take heed of your own advice.

Oh, I see now. The "I advise" in my message was also for Hayabusa. The reason I quoted JG Lydia was to avoid the possibility of her not seeing my message. You also know the past events about Hayabusa, so you understand many things.

At the end of the day, we're just a few letters of usernames, so I don't care that much about relationships.

The only thing we have in common is our beliefs, so I don't even mind working with people I hate, as long as everyone does their part to keep Joy of Satan functional.

And this isn't the first problem I've had with Naked. In the past, he insulted me very openly by pretending to know very well about things he did not know. Then his message was deleted, of course.
You should learn not to threaten people in veiled ways, and don't try to play God in front of me.

You should also learn that other people can be just as prideful as you are. They may even be more unyielding than you.

Thank you for your reasonable approach.

I'm not interested in Hayabusa's contribution, because he's done a lot of things in the past that have caused us problems. I'm not going to disclose any more, so as not to create a reputation assassination. He needs to think about why I'm writing to him in the first place, instead of wondering, "Oh, did someone steal your device?"

For the JG Lydia part, read what I wrote to JG Blitz:

Oh, I see now. The "I advise" in my message was also for Hayabusa. The reason I quoted JG Lydia was to avoid the possibility of her not seeing my message. You also know the past events about Hayabusa, so you understand many things.

Still, I think everyone here is a little too sensitive. It's better to focus on the content instead of the form.
Thank you sister for the first paragraph, this is not really your concern, but if you read the above part of the message I think we can resolve the misunderstandings you have.

I know that the translation process of JoS Rituals is difficult and I am already working on a tool that makes it easier. Unfortunately, this will take some time. JoS Rituals was released less than a year ago, so of course there is still time and space to mature.

As for the "Complete" button in rituals, you would be surprised how many people forget where they left off.

As for the RTR painting system, you can quickly switch between the old 2-finger mode and the new single-finger mode.

From the article "How does the JoS Rituals work?":

Single Finger: In this mode, an extra button appears just to the left of the customization menu at the bottom right. By clicking this button you can switch between scrolling and painting modes. If you are in scrolling mode, you can easily scroll with one finger, but you cannot paint. If you are in painting mode, then the scrolling behavior is canceled and only the painting system is active.

Two Finger: This mode is the same as before. With one finger you can only paint but not scroll. Using two fingers you can scroll the page. A more sensitive and tolerant finger detection system has been created to make the experience easier.

To switch between modes, simply enter any paintable RTR page, then you will see a button at the bottom right. Press it to customise your ritual experience.

See image.

At the end of the day, we're just a few letters of usernames, so I don't care that much about relationships.

While I knew this is who she was, to see this in front of me was a whole other feeling of reverence and respect for her being as a whole. What does that tell to those who think that the "forums" are only digital signatures and digital people, and not true individuals, let alone a place where family is manifest? That taught me many things and during this, I had a flash in my head about realizing this as a younger member in the JoS.

If HPHC or others had a real problem with you, this would be made clear.

I know HPHC has no such idea. Others this is being made clear. They will always love them more.

I certainly have no problems with anyone let alone you Hayabusa. You are learning and accommodating in the environment. For others to expect you to instantly be "in place" instantly, given everything about you, is too many irrational demands.

I see this is where the main misunderstanding started from. The idea behind this thread was never that of replacing the old translators who want to keep translating the future calendars. Quite the contrary.

But as JG Lydia explained, it was a common theme that some translators (both of old and new languages) would contact us, each year, only after the Calendars would be officially published. Which shows that some members didn't know the Calendar was in the making or that they could join the project. Others don't check emails in a timely manner or don't use certain email accounts everyday, which is fine and quite understandable. But this leads to delays in some cases of months. This thread was to try to minimize that.

Another thing which seemingly was misunderstood is what was said about "official translators". This was meant in the sense that just because Italian JoS (as an example) is translated by you, this doesn't mean that the Calendars must automatically also be translated by you. They're different projects and people who want to help are encouraged to get in touch. Of course this doesn't mean that we will choose new translators every year and replace the old ones. As a matter of fact, we always sent the materials to the same translators year after year, for as long as they choose to do this.

Regarding your example with the Italian translator, after having read everything you wrote above, I first understand the underlying reason for some of your remarks earlier in this thread. But regardless of the mistakes they might have done, they also became progressively better, learned something, moved forward with hopefully better skills. All these are good things. Besides they're a really nice person and it was a pleasure working with them.

If everyone turns down the unexperienced, they'll never get the chance to become experienced. So I am quite happy that they took up this task and got a chance to grow in this respect!

I am very happy to announce that the 2024 SS Calendar will be translated into 4 new languages! I was hoping to get one or two new ones with my OP, so this is great. Thank you to all the translators, the members of your native languages will be very appreciative of your hard work :)

So in the end Spine has a point, can we say that? Then he has other problems I won't comment, next time the person making the announcement should try to imagine, to be himself in other contexts, so as to avoid these misunderstandings.

But as JG Lydia explained, it was a common theme that some translators (both of old and new languages) would contact us, each year, only after the Calendars would be officially published. Fine, you certainly have mechanisms and procedures already in place, just at the same time trying to collaborate with other communities as well, I have certain ways in mind, just to give an example.

Another thing which seemingly was misunderstood is what was said about "official translators". This was meant in the sense that just because Italian JoS (as an example) is translated by you, this doesn't mean that the Calendars must automatically also be translated by you. As a matter of fact, we always sent the materials to the same translators year after year, for as long as they choose to do this.

Of course, but that is precisely why it is inadvisable, for how do you know the skill of a translator? You did not answer on this question, it is advisable that you ask a community as a guarantee if the candidate member is consonant or needs help or just proofreading as in my case.
Regarding your example with the Italian translator, after having read everything you wrote above, I first understand the underlying reason for some of your remarks earlier in this thread. But regardless of the mistakes they might have done, they also became progressively better, learned something, moved forward with hopefully better skills. All these are good things. Sure of course, I at first I was a little pissed with him, it's understandable, but then we worked together for the good of all and in fact he is still in charge in this role (at least I know about it, since I am no longer in charge of JoSItaly), I didn't fire him or ban him :)

But should we, indeed you, specifically, ask yourselves whether this approach is feasible? The risk as was the case in my case, that you will have calendars that are not translated correctly and therefore there are wasted time, discussions, etc and you cannot say: "oh this year is now over, it will be for next year", because in my pov it is a not very consonant approach, you need to do it immediately within a few days/week. It's okay to help members improve themselves etc. but at the same time you have to held responsible for their work and then fix/resolve problems, due to their mistakes or any other issue.

Anyway, there is nothing more to say, I wish you all calendar team a good job! :) Ciao

Not that I know of, I just emailed ThomasSs to check (people who have his address might email only him). You can email me in the meantime, I'm not sure if I have your address in my new account yet. So if there are no volunteers yet then I will let you know :)

I wanted to thank you one more time for everything. You have been taking care of us for a long time and I have never seen you complaining even once. I know how difficult it is and it gives me great respect.

I have become who I am after all these things, but I am bewildered by it all. I don't know how, but it's as if someone is guiding me through eternity.

I feel close to children in the world. Watching them, seeing in the smallest thing the leaven of all the virtues, of all the strengths that they will one day need so much, seeing in their stubbornness the consistency and strength of character for the future, seeing in their mischief the humor and recklessness that belies the dangers of the world, everything is so pristine, so whole!

I am living the kind of happy days that God would have honored his saints with; whatever happens to me from now on, I cannot say that I have not tasted the purest joys of life.

All of this is thanks to all of you. I would love to meet every single one of my friends one day; Blitzkreig, Afodo, Henu, MiniMe, Alchemist, NakedPluto, Voice of Enki, Lydia and Lord Cobra...

I don't care how it ends, if necessary I will blow up the place where I am with myself. I will always fight for our truth. My loyalty to your decisions is eternal.

I will fight to bring peace to everyone in the world.
Thank you, Lydia. Thank you, Blitz. Thank you, Cobra.
I will remember all of this for the rest of my existence.

''Now, people, stand up and let the storm break!''

The spirit world will kneel before our will and ideals.

Hail Lydia!
Hail Blitzkreig!
Hail Cobra!

Hello. Essentially "alchemists" were those who were spiritually elevated, those who still had the knowledge of the "alchemy of the soul" so to say, which is the knowledge to advance one's soul spiritually, that many people still practiced in utmost secrecy as to not get persecuted and killed by the christian church as was the "norm" at the time.

Hello to all :)

It's almost time for the 2024 SS Calendars! And with every edition, we are working hard to ensure the newest version is the best one yet!

With every passing year, we have more and more SS members across the world from non-English speaking countries. So if any of you would like to have the Calendar available in your own language, you can work with us to translate it.

Drop me an email (included in my signature, and below my avatar) and I will put you in contact with the Author, ThomaSsS. He will then send you the documents to translate, and instructions on how to do it. It will be within a few days as, I am currently finishing up one document.

For those who have already translated previous editions and want to continue with the upcoming one, email ThomaSsS (or myself if you've don't have his email).

Thank you to all translators for helping the JoS grow! :)

(For those who have no idea what the SS Calendar is, the link to the current year is in my signature, as well as the Calendar FAQ, answering hopefully all of your questions!)

Hi HPS Lydia. I hope you are doing well. I understand that this request is coming in late, but I'd like to inquire if it's still possible to proceed with the translation of the calendar into the Filipino language. I've already sent you an email containing a rough draft of the 2023 calendar as a demonstration of our translation capabilities for the 2024 calendar. I will work on completing it promptly and will keep you updated on our progress. :)
