Our species, born and graced by the Gods, are beings in communion with nature. The animals of this planet are beings as well, part of existence with unique personalities and essence, breathing the same air and similarly doing their existence on their level.

I met some days ago a dying crow on the street. He was quite old but I suspect he was hit or something. By unplanned route, meeting this crow, I had already on me food for birds. This bird knew that it was dying, I knew too. Couldn't eat anything. I was glad that the flock was adamant above me to leave their friend alone until they saw I was very friendly.

I stayed for a few minutes there. Nobody cared, but I did.

Why? More than anything I saw the clarity in this bird's eye and an unwavering bravery to face death. Birds are known to hide their pain to not appear vulnerable.

But this bird was lucid and while in pain, showed me more bravery than any common human on the street.

I have lived and looked at many animals, and they all have extraordinary abilities that the general human on this planet lacks profoundly.

Animals are a form of innocence in comparison to us, and yet, they confront the naked realities of existence in more brutal ways than we do, to their level.

They do not fail to accomplish and succeed, to live their life.

While this is not a calculated move in our terms, there is a point of reflection there, and a glimpse of decision, even if instinctual.

But we fail to face death, we fail to be truly ourselves.

If they fail, they cannot even produce excuse and their excuses are their own nature, but we do excuses when that's not even necessary.

We fall from simple things and we are more vulnerable than a turtle on its back.

This is not designed for us, but it was a choice by us and pressure from existential enemies. Do we change this?

We can overcome and exemplary reach our true forms. Until then, a crow will show more honor in their death than a man fearing the unknown.

This crow will be forever in my heart and I was company in death that day, as I have been with humans. When I will face my death as I did many times, I will be strong as this crow was, with lucid eyes and a strong posture, unwavering.

I wish you be blessed with this too. The laws of existence are not filtered by the wrong decisions in animals, this they serve as a window towards the nature of truth on this level, simple yet in need to be conquered to reach towards more.

Birds are incredible, beautiful creatures.
I agree with what you’ve said here and I’m glad you gave the crow a moment of your time

Thank you for sharing such a profound experience and this important lesson that Nature teaches us. Your words have touched my soul. I have also often observed that animals have remarkable bravery compared to most humans. They do what needs to be done and are relentless at all times, executing their tasks with incredible perfection, regardless of circumstances.

I have found myself in the presence of many situations where I have had to rescue an animal, or help give comfort to one that was passing away, I understand what you mean here.

going slightly off subject I just want to mention,

I grew up in company of many animals, which caring for them taught me a lot of things about life in general.

It does a person good to visit a farm and learn to care for an animal, feed them, etc. It's educational and it helps one connect with nature.

We spend too much time inside, and isolated from nature and the world outside. There is so much to learn beyond the streets of a city or the comfort of your own home.

People don't have that connection to the earth that we used to have, we had to depend on it to survive, and we had to hunt and gather and care for animals and so much but now even though it's much safer, and we have supermarkets to shop from, we are living so much differently than we did hundreds of years ago.

This is why I highly recommend people go visit farms, or offer to do work there when available just for the experience, or go out in a safe area and do some hiking, camping, nature trails etc. It's invigorating for the soul. Observing animals can teach us many things about life and ourselves. And it's good for the soul to learn new experiences.
