Many (if not all) pro-Soviet sources come to the conclusion that Hitler wanted to rename Russian cities with the German ending "Burg, Sberg" - it's like the ending "sk" for us ( Russian ).

Someone even writes that Hitler wanted to rename the cities in honor of the generals who took this city.

I even saw a newspaper in which it is written that Hitler wanted to rename Kiev to Ruriksberg (translated: the city of Rurik).
So what? Not bad...
But seriously, it's illogical.
Can record anti-Hitler propaganda in the Inconsistency.

In general, the names in their performances were as follows: Theodorichshafen (Simferopol), Hitlerburg (Moscow).
In fact, even if he called the cities in the German style, they would be strongly Russified, like St. Petersburg.
This is the original name of the city. It is translated from German as "City of St. Peter."
However, the Soviets renamed it tasteless Leningrad...

Well, in fact, during the German occupation of Bryansk ( Брянск ), the names of communist streets were changed to pre-revolutionary.
There were no foreign names for the Russian people.

So it turns…
The Hitlerites know at least a little about the history of Russia,
And the Soviet is destroying this story.
For example, a 600-year-old wall in Moscow was destroyed.
They wanted to rename Moscow, which was founded by Yuri Dolgoruky, and the buildings in it have been from the time of Rus`, to Stalindar... Sorry, but, as for me, it is disrespect for Russia. It was even impossible to destroy a 600-year-old monastery, because it's history and architecture. The hotel would be better to do...

Sorry for bad English and mistake
