When we raise energy and then use it to perform a magic ritual, we lose that energy and doesn't empower our soul at all?

Does an imbalance in the root chakra affect the crown chakra? I am asking because these chakras are their male/female counterparts and I have a tremendous amount of tension the root chakra.
